Frank Raspante Scavenger Hunt & Benefit

Frank Raspante, commander of Squadron 117 of the Sons of the American Legion, was in a very serious motorcycle accident in November. He is now paralyzed, and is currently undergoing treatment in Atlanta, Georgia.

Frank and his wife, Kari, have been active members of Post 117 & ALR Chapter 117. They’ve always given of themselves, let’s show them how much we care. Veterans for veterans and Riders take care of Riders…saddle up and ride.

Update to the update!!!

Frankster made it to Atlanta safe and sound YAY!!!

From Sheila’s Facebook post:

They are flying Frankster out at 9am in the morning to The Good Shephard in Atlanta, Georgia. His spirits are high and he is looking forward to moving forward.

It sure sounds like the right place for Frank to be.  Prayers to continue and thank you to all who participated in the blood drive  last Saturday.

Blood Drive an amazing success

Two bloodmobiles at the post, [updated] 64 donors registered, 54 units of blood collected.  The buses were kept busy until after 5 PM, so busy that they had to send out for more supplies! We’ll get the final counts early next week but we’ve heard this was the largest single drive in the past 10 years. Just imagine if the weather was nicer!!!

Thank you to all who came to donate and special thanks to Donna Walkowiak who coordinated the whole thing. She is looking forward to doing the one-year anniversary drive and we hope Frank will be there in person to cheer us on.

Squadron 117 issues urgent appeal for blood

Compatriots in the Florida Detachment,

The commander of S.A.L. Squadron 117, Frank Raspante, was involved in
a very serious motorcycle accident on Sunday, November 20th. He
remains in critical condition at Holmes Regional Medical Center in
Melbourne, Florida. The hospital has requested that there be no
visitors or inquires into his condition (his Squadron and Post has
overwhelmed them with their concern).

The American Legion Post 117, its Ladies Auxiliary, its Legion Riders,
and Squadron 117 of the Sons of the American Legion are reaching out
to posts across Florida to donate blood, indicating that it is for
Frank Raspante of Palm Bay, Fl, at HRMC Melbourne.

Locally, the post is organizing a bloodmobile and corresponding ride,
details will follow. District 12 posts, please stand by.

Please join us in prayers for Frank and his wife Kari.

Please direct any inquiries to me, and advise us of any contribution.
Thank you and God Bless.

Respectfully,

Philip Wright, Adjutant and acting Chaplain,
Squadron 117, S.A.L., Palm Bay, FL
